Camping with Children: Dispelling Myths, Safety and more

1) Myth: Children should be old enough where they listen to you before you can take them camping.
False!
Fact: Infants and young toddlers have been brought camping for years without incidents. What IS true though, if the adult is not adult enough to watch the kid like a hawk, then camping is best waited until the Adult matures.

How to Camp with Runners and Crawlers:
There is a device called a Harness for Kids. I highly recommend buying one! If the young girl who died in the water would have been wearing it, with the other end of the strap attached to an adult, she would not have drowned. The adults were all distracted talking, and not attentively watching all the children.

Buddy System: This system has saved many lives before. You have to have a responsible person attached to another person, whereby, that responsible person is responsibly watching and interacting with their buddy at all times. It does not allow for Buddy 1 to talk with friend with back to Buddy 2. Buddy 1 can talk with friend, but must be watching and attentive to Buddy 2. Everyone, no matter what their age, should have a buddy!

2) Myth: Camping is boring with Rain
Can be made false with a little planning.

Now I have had camping trips that were pretty miserable because it rained almost the entire time, AND I was NOT allowed to bring with any toys except a deck of playing cards - because we are camping and we are going to be outside and that is that! :P Wrong attitude! Back in my day, we didn't have electronics we could bring with. BUT we could have brought some Legos with, a Chess set (or chess/draughts/checkers combination), and a book or two to read.

BWCA camping in the modern day:
They do have travel Scrabble (great with kids too!), travel Chess (cloth board, folds up tiny), travel Draughts/Checkers, Mill, and many other travel games. They even have Magnetic Playing cards (dickens to shuffle!), Plastic water proof cards, and long life batteries (expensive) for Mac products. Sorry! I forget the name of the company, but it begins with H and is pricey!

I would allow the kids to bring with a DS and see about getting extra batteries, but only allow a few games with. This is for the 1 hour of downtime that the child is allowed. Also, this works great if you are camping for 4 days, and it rains for all 4 of them. However, I would also invest in a waterproof bag made specifically to keep electronics dry in case of canoe flipping.

What to do in the rain (both non-BWCA and BWCA versions):
As long as its NOT lightning out, or too cold or too windy... you can make a fort out of tarps, chairs and umbrellas. Its fun to play the same old game, but in a new spot! I was bored with playing cards, but put me under a canopy in a cool fort, and those cards meant the world to me!

In the BWCA,  packing light is the rule, so you would have to use ponchos and an extra tarp, if you brought it. You aren't likely to have chairs with as the weight would kill you over time on some of those portages.

Lightning: It is dangerous to camp when it is lightning. I do NOT recommend it. But what do you do if you are stuck? Set up camp FAR away from ALL tall trees but short bushes and very short trees is are best, in the lowest part of land you can find, especially in a Valley. Keep the food packs up high between two trees, as bears still love food. But, in the Southern part of England what do you do? Find a dip or ditch in the land some wheres, but be aware of flooding. Then, I'd tell funny stories to each other to keep people calm. The funnier and sillier the better the story!

Myth: It is better to camp in an open field in stormy weather.
False! You will BE the first thing struck by lightning if you do this! You want to stay away from anything metal, or is tall (like telephone poles, tall trees, etc.) This is a change from what we were taught in the 60's and 70's. They still say that tall trees are bad, but short trees are good. You don't want to be directly UNDER the tree though as that is still bad. But, you do want to be near it so that it will be the target, but far enough away so that you won't be hurt when it IS the target.

How do you stay dry? Use the ponchos. This is also where a metal-free tarp comes in handy, because your tent, if it contains metal, will be a lightning conductor.

Do NOT use electronics here, because lightning is happening and makes electronics dangerous. You may die.

3) The Short of it:

Teach children how to swim.
Teach them to recognize Poison Ivy.
Make camping a fun hiking and science adventure.
Teach them how to respect Nature.
Bury waste far from bodies of water (if in Scotland or country that does not have outhouses).
[Personally, I recommend bringing with toilet compost material as the Victorian period damages lands with their unsanitary waste disposal, and I find that camping with the same methods, just as unsanitary.]

There is a compost material that works well in a self-composting toilet, but I do not know what it is called, and do not know if there is a self-composting portable toilet that is suitable for camping, but with the proliferation of "back to nature" types, I'm sure it exists.

The Facts: 

Pussy Riot infiltrated Cathedral of Christ the Savior and with video cameras and guitars, made a video. This church is the scene where and is near the scene where, tens of thousands of  believers were murdered by a dictator who hated anyone who wasn't a devout Atheist. The rebuilding of the church is a symbol of the rebuilding of the Christian Spirit and the fall of the atheist communistic hell they used to live under. 

An act that seems to defile a place of religion is deemed to be an act against that religion, regardless of what that act is really trying to say. Trespassing without permission is still against the law and hence, is punishable under law. 

So why is what Pussy Riot did so controversial with so much support from around the world, especially the Western World? Keep in mind that ever since Communism took root in Russia, the Orthodox church has had extremely close ties to the government, even to the point of the Russian government needing to "approve" the sermons before they are spoken in church. 

1) The Western world largely sees it as a squashing of Free Speech. They conveniently ignore that the band trepassed into a place they did not belong, went up on stage where they did not belong, and dances and chanted in a way that was NOT appropriate for a Russian Orthodox Church. 

2) The Western world is largely against communism because it has practised keeping their constituents in line through violence, imprisonment, and fear. 

So, why did Pussy Riot choose that church, of all churches? I do not know their reasons, but here is what I see. 

1) The country of Russia has been trying to ban freedom of speech. The Russian government has been making and passing laws that take away and kill the freedoms of the Russian citizens. 

2) Why not illustrate how the Russian government is killing its citizen's freedom, by reminding people of the 10,000 people that were brutally murdered at the hands of a sadist? I believe that Pussy Riot is trying to say that the Russian government is killing us off just like they did the tens of thousands of Christians and that we must never forget their deaths as it will happen again. And, Pussy Riot believes that Putin is leading Russian towards this again and that the church should not ally itself with such a person. 

Issue: Christians see it only as mocking God. They do not see what else it could mean. Would there have been a better way of illustrating their point? Sure! But I guarantee you, it would have gone largely unnoticed and would NOT have gotten the world on their side. 

3) They may also be saying if God is real, then why do we still have the freedom killing people in office? Why are you Believers standing there, idol instead of doing something to stop the crimes against Russian citizens? 

4) Most importantly, they are asking believers to stand their ground and stop fraternizing with the enemy who has taken your freedoms away before. The government that was communist has squashed freedoms and killed. Putin is leaning harshly towards communism and can kill as well. 

Given the opinion that they had to use that church to get the attention they desired, was it justified? I would say mixed. It still breaks laws, and because of the laws it breaks, I am still 100% against what they did, but on the other hand, I do understand why they did that, and for those reasons, I am leery of giving them such a sentence. 

Did they destroy the church in any way? If they did, yes they should have to fix that damage, and do a proper job of it. 

Worship the almighty bottle and get a life NOT

A interview of the presenter of Hollywood Game Night, mentioned how celebrities were encouraged to DRINK and get buzzed or drunk before the show. That is AN OUTRIGHT DISPICABLE AND SATANIC THING TO DO! That is NOT a joke! MILLIONS OF PEOPLE DYING FROM DRUNKS OR DRINKING THEMSELVES INTO LIVER ISSUES IS NOT A FUCKING JOKE MORON!

A bride was MURDERED BY A DRUNK! Leah Fonda, newlywed, on her Honeymoon MURDERED BY A JACKASS WORSHIPPING THE BOTTLE. And, he is NOT likely to get a life sentence! She got a life sentence! She is dead!

Why I would NOT take Golf Fuel

NOTE: This is MY opinion as to why MY body, will NOT take Golf Fuel. YOU must make up YOUR own mind. I highly recommend talking with YOUR doctor BEFORE you take anything! Acetyl-L Carnitine: This has been linked to heart issues. Dr. Oz has even spoken on this on an episode I saw. Why do I avoid Red meats? I think that animal proteins is the number one reason why We can't defeat Diabetes, Alzheimers, and other health ailments. I am 98% Vegan. I do have Dairy and Fish on occasion, but normally its when eating out where I don't have a choice.

Ginkgo Biloba: Has been found to damage the liver. The liver is a complex organ that has over 300 functions. We have not yet been able to replace this organ except with a liver transplant. There is not a pill you can take to replace the damage done to the liver. See Ginkgo Biloba Article

Dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE): Ethanol is alcohol. Too much alcohol, and the body attacks your liver. DMAE has been found to reduce the life span of Quails. "It is believed that dimethylaminoethanol is methylated to produce choline in the brain. It is known that dimethylaminoethanol is processed by the liver into choline; however, the choline molecule is charged and cannot pass the blood-brain barrier. Choline: Found easily by simply eating Legumes and vegetables. Supplementation is not necessary.

Bacopa  and Huperzine A are Herbs. I think that more research needs to be done, before I'm going to take this. Why? See Ginkgo Biloba, the herb that was thought to be healthy for you, but in reality, damages the liver. No thanks!


L-Tyrosine: You can get this in high quantities in Seaweed. Its also found in Soy milk and Spinach.

The Pursuit of Life, Liberty and Happiness in a Country of Hate and Discrimination

The Fourth of July is a holiday for ALL HUNTERS AND RACIST SODS to worship their achievement in making damn sure INEQUALITY AND JUSTICE FOR ONLY THE PRIVILEGE PREVAILS!

Don't believe me? Can you, in  a wheelchair enter any business or school you want to without issues? Almost, not quite, but YEARS better!!! Can you enter any bathroom without issues? Yes, we have made improvements here, but we still have old buildings that do not need accommodation added. Instead, they are allowed to move the meetings. AND we have 90% of the population who insist that they are so handicap that they MUST use the larger bathroom because their fat arses don't fit in those tiny stalls! And these are the same bloody arses who brag about how fat they are when they are very thin (size 10 and smaller for Americans, 38 and smaller for Europe). Those with children, I get it, but I do NOT want to sit on your children's pee! Gross! Clean it up! I'm not your mother! 

Can you in a wheelchair rent anywheres or buy any home? NO YOU CAN NOT BECAUSE CONSTRUCTION EXCEPT THOSE ONLY MADE TO ACCOMMODATE IN ALL UNIT ARE PURPOSEFULLY NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE! The rich can't be bothered! 

What I mean is that unless is a high-rise built to have every single unit ONLY for those in wheelchairs, then NONE of those units will be wheelchair accessible in most cases. Some buildings do have 1 or 2 units available. The issue? It does cost money to build and keep running, an elevator. Some landlord can NOT afford this expense! In these cases, I would fully support renovating the main floor to be ramp accessible and wheelchair accessible, saving the upper floors for other use. The only issue I have with this is, my friend is in a wheelchair and has NEVER been able to visit me because my place is never wheelchair accessible by my lack of funds to afford those better buildings! Only the Rich get buildings with Elevators! 

What about those with Food allergies? I know you hate food allergy people because all they do in complain! Get over yourself as you won't ever choke on that gluten filled beef and chicken pattie you're eating! You can eat a $1 burger and not die. I can't. You get kick backs and free food. I don't! You can go to any social party, gathering, wedding, picnic, fund raiser and so on and find TONS of food you can eat, even if you don't like them! Those of us with a normal set of food allergies (excluding me, mine is ridiculous) can NOT! We have to bring our own food EVERYWHERES! I am NOT talking about me, because my list is such that I do not expect those selfish morons to accommodate. 

Where has this changed? Some sporting venues are now accommodating those who need gluten free, or are vegan or vegetarian. KUDOS TO YOU ALL FOR TRYING! YEAH! No, this doesn't help me, because I really do not tolerate onion, beef, chicken and can't have it touching my food at all. And, I can't have litelife Soy Dogs because I recently found out that I can't have fermented rice. However, I wasn't expecting accommodation, just maybe an allowance to bring in an emergency food item WITH a doctors note explaining how severely allergic I am.
